Joachim Buerkle

Mr. Bürkle has been in his current position since 2000. From 1996 to 2000 he was a system engineer at Bosch Telecom/Marconi in Germany and the United States, in the area of SS7 voice switching, ATM and IP broadband access systems (PON, AON) and point-to-multipoint microwave systems. Since 2000 he has been a consultant and manager of market development at Nortel, in the area of wireline data networks (including ATM, FrameRelay, IP, MPLS, and Ethernet) for wireless operators in EMEA. He also was an editor/coeditor of several request for comments (RFCs) in the IETF, and is actively contributing to the Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF). He received a master's degree in computer science from University Karlsruhe (TH) in Germany in 1995.
