Livio graduated with honours in Electronic Engineering in 1987 at the University of Genoa and joined Marconi Communications (now an Ericsson company) in 1988. Currently he works at Ericsson in the Product Line Optical, where he is responsible for a range of Metro products. Previously he was responsible for 10 years of the SW development of Marconi SDH Crossconnects, a family of productcs that has been at the top of DCS market segment segment for years.
His main expertise is on optical, carrier Ethernet and packet transport technologies and standards, traditional SDH, real-time SW development, product management and strategy. He is deeply involved in defining product development and business strategies for Ericsson Optical products. He has a wide knowledge of operators’ networks, applications and business requirements, ranging from SDH to packet transport and is particularly involved in definig solutions for transport network evolution from TDM to packet.
