Recognised as an experienced and innovative professional across the telecoms and media sectors, Kevin’s career started with BT as a sponsored University Student. Following a leading role in international standards for BT, Kevin moved to Nortel Networks where he worked in product planning both in the UK and Canada before taking overall responsibility across Europe for software development on Nortel’s voice switches. Kevin then moved into Nortel’s Service Provider business unit where he was appointed Chief Architect for all of their European Cable customers. In 2002, Kevin left Nortel and set up his own start up company which carried our pioneering research into novel networking technologies for the US Air Force Research Labs. Kevin then moved to ntl: as their Director for Network Strategy in 2004 and has seen his role progressively expand as ntl: merged with Telewest, acquired Virgin Mobile and transformed itself into today’s Virgin Media. Kevin holds an MBA with distinction from Imperial College, an MSc in Computer Science from Aston University and a BSc in Electronic & Electrical Engineering from the University of Birmingham where he returned as an Honorary Professor from 1999 to 2008
