Femto Forum

Femtocells are low-power wireless access points that operate in licensed spectrum to connect standard mobile devices to a mobile operator’s network using residential DSL or cable broadband connections.

The Femto Forum has been set up to promote the wide-scale adoption of femtocells. It has 137 members including 63 operators representing more than 1.71 billion mobile subscribers – 33% of the global total. Comprised of mobile operators, telecoms hardware and software vendors, content providers and innovative start-ups, its mission is to advance the development and adoption of small cells via femtocells and broader applications of femto technology for the provision of high-quality 2G/3G/4G coverage and services within the residential, enterprise and public access markets.

IPv6 Forum

The IPv6 Forum is a world-wide consortium of leading vendors, Internet service vendors, National research & Education Networks (NRENs) and international ISPs, with a clear mission to promote IPv6 by improving market and user awareness, creating a quality and secure Next Generation Internet and allowing world-wide equitable access to knowledge and technology. NGMN

The NGMN Alliance (www.ngmn.org) is an open group of about 60 world-leading operators, technology vendors and research institutes. It provides a forum to share, assess, and drive aspects of mobile broadband technologies focusing on LTE & EPC (Evolved Packet Core) and its evolution.

The NGMN Alliance complements and supports the work within standardisation bodies and industry fora by providing a coherent view of what the operator community is going to require for successful deployment and in order to deliver mobile broadband technology quickly and cost-effectively and serve the benefits of the end-user.

Sim Alliance

SIMalliance is (the non-profit trade association) dedicated to supporting the creation, deployment and management of secure mobile services across the globe. Working in partnership with members and the wider mobile community, SIMalliance anticipates and addresses the security, identity and mobility challenges of an increasingly converged internet. Through its working groups the alliance seeks to offer the blueprint to create a secure, open and interoperable environment where mobile services thrive.
Each year SIMalliance brings the mobile industry together at its SIMposium series of events; showcasing new technologies, discussing emerging models and tackling key market challenges and also hosts the annual SIMagine competition, recognising the very best in secure mobile application and service creation.

UMTS

The UMTS Forum helps all players in the dynamic new value chain of Mobile Broadband understand and profit from the opportunities of 3G/UMTS networks and their Long Term Evolution (LTE).

Participating actively in the work of the ITU, the UMTS Forum contributes to the EC and CEPT and is an ETSI Observer and Market Representation Partner in the Third Generation Partnership Project, contributing to their standardisation work of mobile broadband and licensing and deployment of mobile broadband globally.
