Walid Al Salman is the former Network Director for Zain-Iraq, where he oversaw the introduction of GSM service in Kurdistan Iraq, IBS services in Iraq and extensive GSM coverage to the oil companies in Basrah, Southern Iraq. Earlier, Walid was Motorola “Territory Business Unit Manager” for service operations in Oman,Qatar and the UAE for Home and Network Mobility Solutions and has been with Motorola since 2000.

Prior to joining Motorola, Walid Al Salman worked from 1979 to1999 for the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations, where he headed the telecom department looking after the design and implementation of telecommunications and supervisory systems, supporting oil production operation.

Walid Al Salman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Electronics (1975) from Leeds University-UK and a Master of Science degree (1976) in Microwave Communications, from the University of Leeds-UK.
