Italo Busi graduated from Politecnico di Milano, Italy in 1997 where he received a degree in Telecommunication Engineering.
In 1998 he joined Alcatel as a System Engineer working on packet over transport technologies. He is currently member of the CTO Network Architecture & Engineering group of the Optics Division within Alcatel-Lucent.
He is also Principal Engineer within the Alcatel-Lucent Italy Technical Carrier Track.
He was an active participant in ITU-T SG15 for ATM over transport standardization as well as in IEEE 802.17 WG for RPR standardization.
He is currently an active participant in ITU-T SG15 for packet over transport standardization. He is also an active contributor to the IETF and ITU-T joint work on MPLS-TP (MPLS Transport Profile) standardization.
He is the editor of G.8110.1 (currently T-MPLS Layer Network Architecture, to be updated as MPLS-TP Layer Network Architecture).
