The monthly scientific and technical journal Vestnik Sviazy has been published since September, 1917. The journal provides coverage of the telecommunications situation and development prospects in Russia and other CIS countries. Particular emphasis is placed on policies pursued by intergovernmental and national organizations involved in regulation and coordination of telecom operators and suppliers’ activities (ITU, the Regional Commonwealth In The Field Of Communications (RCC), Communications Administrations of the Russian Federation and other CIS countries, etc.) Information on the Russian infotelecommunications market development and activities of PTN & corporate network operators, as well as operator associations, appears in its pages regularly.
Technical articles contain expert evaluations and provide reviews of various kinds of equipment and technologies. Much space is given to national manufacturers of telecommunication equipment and operators’ know-how. Survey authors are top specialists of RCC, Communications Administrations, Russian Federal Ministries and departments, scientific and educational centers (the Leningrad Branch Scientific Research Institute Of Communication (LONIIS), the Central Science Research Telecommunication Institute (ZNIIS), Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics (MTUSI), the Bonch-Bruevich Saint-Petersburg State University Of Telecommunications (SPbGUT), the Povolzhskaya State Academy of Telecommunication and Informatics (PSATI), etc.), and engineering companies.
As per resolution of the State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles under the Russian Ministry of Education, the scientific & technical journal Vestnik Sviazy has been included into the list of the leading Russian scientific periodicals and publications where main scientific results of Doctoral and Candidate theses should be published.
