Valerio Viscardi has more than 12 years experience in telecommunications, mainly focused on Optical Transport. He joined Cisco in January of 2000 through the Cisco acquisition of the Pirelli Optical Systems division. He was with Pirelli since 1998 as a R&D Engineer. As an optical design engineer for Cisco, Valerio was responsible for the design and development of the Cisco ONS 15454 ROADM product. As part of his job responsibilities he runs technology and comparison activities, with a main focus on all optical switching.
Valerio joined OTBU Technical Marketing at the end of 2007. As a TME Valerio works in pre- and post- sales roles, organizing demos and PoC in Monza labs, with focus on reconfigurable optical networks and IPoDWDM solutions, custom design and architecture validations, and troubleshooting.Valerio is based in Monza, Italy.
Valerio earned his master degree in electrical engineering from Politecnico di Milano, with a focus in all optical switching and optical processing. He holds multiple patents in the telecom industry
