2011 Summary, promo video and reviews

WDM Post Event

“This event is always the highlight of the year for Optical conferences, it was great to see how technology is moving on with 1Tb using QAM and a very interesting talk on pushing optical to the limits up to Jotta Bits, so fantastic there is still plenty of room for growth in this ever increasing bandwidth world. The Networking during and after the sessions is vital gaining new contacts with suppliers, customers and competitors so I was very pleased to see the booths/rooms had more equipment and the breaks were longer to have time to see it all.” (PB, Virgin Media)

“Good match of presentations by manufacturers, integrators, operators and customers. A very efficient way to obtain latest status of the industry and technology” (MR, Verizon)

“an upbeat WDM & Next Generation Optical Networking conference. The industry is clearly bouncing back: attendance was up, more equipment was on display in the demo meeting rooms, and customer traffic was up. Carriers reported on 40G deployments. OTN switching continues to gain in mind share and in deployments. And the industry discussion continued on the ROADM’s potential evolution to colourless, directionless, and contentionless (CDC)” (IR, Ovum)

“Exciting! I have sat through some panels and presentations and it is fascinating to watch some consensus building amongst all the participants in the industry.  I think the networking opportunities are excellent” (AB, NYSE Euronext)

“ The conference is very good, we had a packed room this morning and we had a very good panel on 100G which sparked a lot of discussions and will be the main theme of the conference” (NF, Colt).

“Such is the quality of the presentations and also the quality of the attendees that they are all inside here networking and discussing and working together to see how we can deliver the networks of the future” (ME, Corning)
